Referencing additional columns in a DCLGEN

Can a DCLGEN that contains an extra column have an adverse effect on SQL statements that update the table even if the extra column is not referenced in the UPDATE statement?

You should be fine as long as you do not try to reference the additional column (which, I'm assuming from your question, does not exist in the table).
