IBM InfoSphere Information Server for Data Integration provides a single, unified platform for application integration, cloud integration, data quality and master data management.

The IBM InfoSphere Information Server for Data Integration includes several application and data integration products that enable organizations to cleanse, transform, deliver and monitor data.

The system, which is part of IBM's InfoSphere Information Server platform, enables organizations to integrate data from disparate systems, including database management systems, big data structures, enterprise resource planning and CRM systems, as well as on-premises and cloud sources. These integration capabilities also extend to messaging systems; web services; social media; and proprietary systems such as mainframes, midrange systems and data appliances.

Products in this single, unified platform include InfoSphere DataStage, InfoSphere Change Data Capture, InfoSphere Data Architect, InfoSphere Data Replication, InfoSphere Blueprint Director, InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog and InfoSphere Information Services Director.

The latest version, 11.5, provides the following updates:

  • Enhanced scalability and performance and the ability to use a massively parallel processing (MPP) query engine that runs natively on Hadoop
  • Improved interactivity with the Hadoop Distributed File System
  • Additional prebuilt connectors to a variety of enterprise applications
  • The ability to deploy integration processes with an extract, load and transform architecture using push-down optimization.

It's offered as a standalone product bundle or is included in the InfoSphere Information Server Enterprise Edition. The Enterprise Edition also includes the IBM InfoSphere Information Server for Data Quality and IBM InfoSphere Information Server for Information Governance Catalog bundles.

The Data Integration bundle can be deployed on AIX, Linux and Windows, as well as on Hadoop using MPP. The repository can utilize numerous database management systems.
