QUESTION POSED ON: 30 July 2002
I am relatively new to data warehousing and would like to subscribe to some industry journals. What journals would you recommend to subscribe to and read?

Welcome to the field. I hope you find it exciting. There's never a dull moment and that's one reason I enjoy it so much. You get to work with the business to understand business imperatives and with the ever-changing technology to meet the imperatives.

Anyway, I would subscribe to DM Review and Intelligent Enterprise, the leading magazines in the field. I also enjoy Teradata Magazine, CRM Magazine, Oracle Magazine and DB2 Magazine, among others.

Joining the Data Warehousing Institute would also be a good idea. You can receive discounts to their major conferences (4 per year in the U.S.) or regional conferences. They have an excellent quarterly periodical called the Journal of Data Warehousing that you should get.

There's a lot to read on the web as well. DM Review and Intelligent Enterprise have www.dmreview.com and www.intelligententerprise.com respectively. There's www.datawarehouse.com which features recurring online trade shows.

A quick look at my bookmarks reveals these as well as the above sites:
www.SearchCRM.com
www.intellibusiness.com
www.dwinfocenter.org
www.datawarehousingonline.com

Good luck.
