If I understand the question correctly, you’re asking about data modeling software for the retail environment. I’m not aware of any data modeling tools developed specifically for users in the retail business. However, all of the data modeling tools sold by vendors can be utilized for any kind of business.

There are many data modeling tools on the market. The most commonly used (in alphabetical order, not necessarily in order of the most capable) are CA ERwin, Embarcadero ER/Studio, Sybase PowerDesigner and IBM Rational Rose Data Modeler.
