Is it possible to run a one way datasharing system without the ICF?

We are downgrading our sysplex/datasharing environment to a single Z800 machine. I checked the disabling datasharing docs. Is it possible to run a one way datasharing system without the ICF? It looks like it's not, because I will always need the SCA and lock structures when starting up the single DB2 system.
