How to budget time and resources for a new data management initiative

Learn how to budget time and resources for a new data management initiative and read data management best practices, including the benefits of independent systems consultants.

My company is starting up a new data management initiative, but we're not sure what a reasonable amount of time to get it all done in would be. Any ideas?
Without knowing the particulars, it's impossible for me to speculate as to how much time and how many resources you need. I can say this: Engage an independent systems consultant with no vested interest in the outcome to appropriately scope your project vis-à-vis time, human resources and budget. Relying on internal folks alone runs the risks of biases affecting assessments and, ultimately, the likelihood of your project being successful.
